ASSALAMUALAIKUM..
this is a so called essay (one of the assignments) submitted by me to my Communicative English class's web page..my lecturer, Miss Yoon has asked us to write our real experiences in 2009..so..here I go..do comment ya.so that I can improve myself...thank you..
My 2009
2009. How should I describe it? Being 19 should turn me to be more matured, I guess..but what was certain .. I remained as who I was before. A typical Malay girl who was still searching for her own identity. I would say that 2009 had left me with thousands of memories. Those memories I wouldn’t be able to purchase anywhere in this entire nation. It was the year where I devoted myself to the so called end of teenage year. It was the year where I finally done struggling, cracking my head over the studies in matriculation college..yeah..it was kinda funny..I was in physical science stream back in matric but ended up with doing my degree in TESL here in UPSI. Was I failed my matric? Was I scored badly until I didn't manage to get any seats in engineering courses as how my former classmates did? haha..these questions tingling me.. NO! those positive answers for that questions are totally wrong.. I applied for TESL as i love it.. I really keen on teaching. I guess those people who claim that they love to teach should be proud of saying so as I believe that the preferences on teaching field rather than any other fields are something innate. Not everybody willing to devote their life on teaching the children about life, about something that may change them forever. Not everybody willing to gamble on their time spending for these children. That's why I'm proud of myself and I'm certain..every UPSI's students should feel the same. Okay..done with that..back to the topic..( I guess i should put "focus on the topic and not to slip off of it" as one of my 2010 resolutions")..
My 2009??? hurm..I was happy with my 2009 as on that year, after finished a year matric studies, I worked temporarily (for the first time) as a substitute teacher at my former secondary school, Air Panas Girl School ; (APGS..it may also be called as the All Pretty Girls School..haha..joking!), Setapak, Kuala Lumpur. It was my luck to get that job. What was more interesting ..I was given a responsibility to temporarily substituting my former Math teacher's position. What? ya..that was so true.. I had been asked to teach Math to Form 3 and Form 4 and Moral Education and Civic Education to Form 4 apart of doing the relief. How was it? hurm.. fun! i did learn numerous things especially regarding real teaching atmospheres. I've learned how to cope with those students who don't really keen on studying, i've learned on how to deal with problematic students (i mean..in the sense of their discipline matters). As majority of the students were Chinese and Indians, I seriously had to know the most effective way on tackling their attention, and ya.. I had to master my proficiency of English as well. Thank God, I was able to accomplish my job. It was so sad to leave the school even though I only worked there for a month. It was the Teacher's Day Celebration during my last day in that school. I received quite numbers of present. It wasn't really important..I only particular on their continuous hard work in their studies and their success would definitely create grins upon my face.
Yeah..it was undeniably true as I couldn't stop smiling when I received messages through YM, FB or even via text messages regarding my ex- students achievement in their PMR. It was the sweetest gives
ever.
What else happened on 2009 ya? yeah..the huge transition from a college student to a university student. UPSI.The first time I stepped my feet on UPSI's ground, I could feel my stomach grumbled as I couldn't expect what kind of life will I lead. With new housemates, coursemates, lecturers, seniors.. I really had no idea on what to predict. Thank God.. so far I manage to go through each and every circumstances approached. Semester 1 passed by with a happiness and relieves from me as personally I think I've done my best and got a good pointer in my final sem exam. I wish it will remain till the end of semester..God willing.
here is my simple quotation by me,myself and i to be shared with love to all of u..:)
" to dream is sweet, to head to the dream is sweeter, to achieve the dream is sweetest"
